The Best Babymoon Destinations – Everything You Need to Know

The Best Babymoon Destinations – Everything You Need to Know

There is nothing more exciting than expecting a child, especially when it comes to your very firstborn. Your life is about to change in a blink of an eye. So what better way to enjoy your last moments of just the two of you than booking a romantic babymoon destination.

In a way, your babymoon could be more special than your honeymoon. So why not go all out! Whether you enjoy a staycation, a fun USA romantic getaway, or a luxurious international trip – there is a perfect babymoon destination for everyone.

There are so many wonderful babymoon destinations to choose from. So I have teamed up with some incredible family travel writers to pick the very best babymoon destinations from around the world.

This post covers everything you need to know to plan your babymoon and pick the perfect destination. I explain the ins and outs of a babymoon, when to go on a babymoon, and tips to plan your babymoon.

What is a Babymoon?

Just like the honeymoon, this is a very special trip for a couple. A babymoon is a relaxing and celebratory vacation for an expecting mother and their partner before adding a new addition to the family. Whether a couple is welcoming their first child or second, a babymoon is always a great idea.

As first-time parents, I highly recommend going on a babymoon. You can take a luxurious vacation or plan a staycation. Regardless of where you go, a babymoon is a great opportunity for couples to enjoy one last romantic getaway before becoming a family.

Of course, you will have more romantic vacations and fantastic trips as a family, but the first babymoon is like the last hurrah of it being just the two of you. It is the perfect time for couples to relax and enjoy quality time together before everything changes (for the better).

The Best Time to Go on a Babymoon

It is highly recommended to not fly during your third trimester. So the best time to go on a babymoon is during the first and second trimesters.

The first trimester is usually the hardest for most women due to morning sickness and being extra tired. Additionally, women’s bodies are going through tremendous change. You never know what to expect in the first few months. If you do plan a babymoon in the first trimester, the last few weeks would be the most suitable time to go.

Ultimately, the second trimester is the best time to go on a babymoon. The morning sickness should be gone and you will have an increase in energy. In my personal experience, the “golden time” to go on a babymoon is between weeks 15 to 25.

Tips on Planning the Best Babymoon Destination

Just like any trip, planning for the best babymoon destination takes time and research. To help with the process, here are a few tips that helped us plan our perfect babymoon.

An expecting couple kissing in a beautiful garden at the Dallas Arboretum for their maternity photoshoot.

Consult with Your Doctor First

In my opinion, this is the first and most important step – consult with your doctor! Every woman’s body is made differently. Therefore, every pregnancy experience is different. Additionally, every doctor has different practices and concerns for their patients.

You could be completely safe to travel before the third trimester or you may be a high-risk patient and have to stay grounded. If you cannot fly, that is okay! I couldn’t fly but I still had the best babymoon staycation!

Purchase Trip Insurance

Another helpful tip I have to offer and highly recommend is purchasing cancel for any reason trip insurance.

You can prepare and read everything about what to expect when expecting. However, you truly do not know what can happen until your baby is born. So when you book your beautiful babymoon destination, purchase cancel for any reason trip insurance.

When you book your trip, immediately purchase the trip insurance. Some trip insurance plans require you to pay for your policy within 24 hours to 7 days of booking.

Click here to receive your free cancel for any reason trip insurance quote!

Plan a Babymoon Best Suited For You!

Again, every pregnancy is different, so plan a babymoon best suited for you and your needs. As mentioned before, I could not fly during my second trimester. Therefore we planned our babymoon destination around a wonderful staycation.

If you cannot fly and do not want a staycation – a great alternative to flying when pregnant is to take a train. There are some great Amtrak routes in the United States that can take you to a great babymoon destination.

For those active mommas that want to spend their babymoon in the great outdoors, I say do it! Go hiking at a National or State Park. Sadly, if you have been experiencing some complications or risks, it might be better to enjoy a more relaxing babymoon – perhaps on the beach. Either way, you will and deserve to have a wonderful babymoon.

Be Aware of Zika

Zika is an ongoing virus that spreads through mosquito bites. It is very detrimental to pregnant women because the virus can pass to the baby and cause brain defects. So you definitely need to be aware of Zika when you are trying to plan and find the perfect babymoon destination.

When you look at the CDC travel recommendations for Zika, you will notice that several countries are areas of risk because of reported cases. Whether the cases are past or present, the CDC flags the country as a risk. This would include the United States.

Personally, I take Zika information seriously, but also with a grain of salt. Currently, the United States, France, and the Maldives are listed as a risk. Living in Texas (where there have been cases), you can see why I take the information with a grain of salt. As long as there is no outbreak, I feel safe going outside.

With that said, (and I want to reiterate) Zika is still a risk around the world. A lot of countries, like the ones mentioned above, have no current outbreak. So overall, it is best to use your own personal judgment, talk to your doctor, prevent mosquito bites, research the destination, and do what is best for you.

Please note, the babymoon destinations in this article have no current Zika outbreak today, but that does not mean the same will apply for tomorrow. So always check the CDC website and consult with your doctor.

Best Babymoon Destinations in the United States

Whether you can enjoy a staycation, quick weekend getaway, or somewhere far and new – here are some of the best babymoon destinations in the United States.

McKinney, Texas

An expecting couple walking in historic downtown McKinney, Texas, one of the best babymoon destinations around the world.

In the heart of Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex is McKinney – a charming city with romantic activities and an amazing food scene! Moreover, it is the community welcoming you with warm Southern hospitality that will truly win your heart. We would know best, this is where we spent our staycation babymoon.

The best place to spend your babymoon in McKinney, Texas is in the historic downtown district. The historic downtown district has a lovely and lively square filled with boutique shops, local restaurants, and fun things to do.

From taking pottery classes to playing nostalgic games at an arcade, watching stand-up comedy, going on brewery tours, enjoying a Saturday farmer’s market, or one of the many weekend festivals – McKinney, Texas is the perfect romantic getaway.

When you are eating for (at least) two, Mckinney has you covered. You are going to feed your baby so well on this babymoon because the food scene is absolutely incredible. From elevated Southern cuisine to sophisticated Texas cuisine, American backyard fare food, crispy Belgian waffles, melt-in-your-mouth pies, boozy ice cream (for your partner), and more.

For breakfast, go to Layered for the best coffee and Belgium waffles. In the afternoon, enjoy an amazing lunch at Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen and order the crawfish pot pie – seriously the best! During the evening, have a luxurious dinner at Local Yocal BBQ and Grill and order the LOYO mac n’ cheese with Waygu sirloin. And for dessert, enjoy a luscious pie from Emporium Pies or boozy ice cream (also non-alcohoilc flavors) at Cocktail Creamery.

In the historic downtown district, stay at the charming and awarding-winning Neathery Estate bed and breakfast. Or just outside the district is the fabulous Sheraton McKinney hotel. You cannot go wrong with either for your babymoon as they are both lovely.

Savannah, Georgia

A narrow road with towering trees. One of the most iconic pictures of Savannah, Georgia and a great babymoon destination.

With tons of friendly Southern charm, and a slow relaxed pace, Savannah, Georgia is the perfect babymoon destination. Stroll around the historic city and take breaks at any number of Savannah’s squares. These are small little areas of nature with park benches and often a historical landmark or work of architecture.

Take the leisurely trolly and make stops at the American Prohibition Museum and Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, creator of the Girl Scouts. While you can’t sample cookies at the house, don’t worry. Savannah has a range of culinary options that are sure to please even the most fickle of pregnancy cravings.

Try South African-inspired food at the infamous Zunzi’s, or a savory British pie at The Little Crown by Pie Society. If you’re looking for a meal with more ambiance, stay on the trolley and stroll by the water’s edge taking your pick from any number of waterside eateries. For dessert, definitely seek out Leopold’s ice cream for unique flavors like rose water and honey almond cream. Then sit among the delightful 1950s soda shop ambiance as you dig in.

At night, if you’re brave enough, take any number of the incredible ghost tours to experience Savannah’s haunted history. If you’re too tired to walk, try Hearse Ghost Tours. Yes, a guide will drive you around in a remodeled hearse and tell you about the spooky lure of the city! If you enjoy an evening walk, definitely book with Ghost City tours for an experience that will make you clutch your sides with laughter – careful not to pee from giggling too hard, mama!

A great hotel to tuck in at night is the cozy and refined Planters Inn on Reynolds Square. In the early evening, check out the lobby for live piano music and free cheese, (and wine for your partner.)

New Orleans, Louisiana

Picture strolling hand-in-hand to Cafe du Monde for an order (or two) of beignets, followed by a carriage ride, departing from Jackson Square, through the French. Spend the afternoon either exploring the Garden District or Magazine Street. End the day with an intimate dinner for two (and a half) at such restaurants as Antoine’s; and if no one is sleepy yet, cap the evening off with music at Preservation Hall.

Undoubtedly New Orleans, Louisiana, provides a memorable escape for two before the upcoming stork visit. The Crescent City offers authentic experiences for every couple’s interest, be it exploring the city or taking it easy.

Consider visiting one of New Orleans many museums, like The Presbytère or National World War II Museum. Nothing says bonding more than taking a cooking class together from New Orleans Cooking School or the Southern Food and Beverage Museum. Learn the lay of the land and some history with a walking tour with one of the various tour companies.

Slow it down by with an impromptu picnic on The Riverwalk with a muffuletta from City Grocery. Afterward, journey across the river on a ferry to Algiers Point, New Orleans’ oldest neighborhood. Take a streetcar at least once. Ride it to City Park and walk through New Orleans’ Museum of Art’s sculpture garden.

Perhaps one of the best area to stay is on Canal Street, at either Sheraton New Orleans Canal or Marriott on Canal. Don’t overlook Palace Cafe for dessert, either. It’s accessible to the French Quarter, the streetcar line, and a quick drive or cab ride to other parts of New Orleans.

Maui, Hawaii

One of the best places for a very special babymoon is the beautiful island of Maui.  One of the most glorious islands of the Hawaiian island chain, this island is the perfect blend of activities to do without being as busy as the island of Oahu.  Whether you want to just relax by your resort pool or on the beach, do a bit of shallow snorkeling, or take a scenic drive, there are many activities to enjoy on the Valley Isle.

For a shallow snorkel adventure, visit Kapalua, where you can snorkel right from the beach. You will see plenty of local and tropical fish, including the humuhumunukunukuapua’a (the state fish) and a resident turtle.  A road trip on the road to Hana would also be doable (but if you get car sick, take precautions).

A day trip to explore local towns and the Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm is a nice, calm activity.  If you are able to hike, there are many hikes in the area and you can also take a road trip to visit the Iao Valley.

Our favorite resort area is near Kaanapali, where the Hyatt Residence Club, Westin, and Sheraton Black Rock are located. For a more Hawaiian-style hotel, check out Kaanapali Beach Hotel. If luxury is what you are after, the Ritz Carlton Kapalua, the Four Seasons Wailea, or the Grand Wailea are your best options.

One of our favorite places to eat on Maui is Merriman’s on Kapalua.  Farm fresh and locally sourced, this gourmet cuisine is served in a dining room like no other overlooking the Kapalua Bay – one of the best places to watch one of Maui’s glorious sunsets. Mama’s Fish House in Paia is also another very special spot on Maui for dining.

If you are on a babymoon WITH kids, no problem! There are plenty of kid-friendly things to do on Maui.   Maui has so much to offer, it is no wonder they say “Maui No Ka Oi” or “Maui is the best!”

Oahu, Hawaii

For a Zika-free babymoon destination in the United States, it doesn’t get much better than the island of Oahu. Whether you want to stay in the heart of Waikiki, or want to get away from the crowds, there is an Oahu resort perfect for your babymoon.

If this is your first baby, book an Oahu babymoon resort that has private pool cabanas, beachfront dining, and a spa that offers prenatal massages. Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore and the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki are great options.

If you are traveling to Oahu with kids, consider staying at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. They have a complimentary kids club for children ages 3-12, an amazing spa, tons of kids programs, and an incredible pool area. There’s something for all members of your family.

There are so many amazing things to do on a Hawaii babymoon that are totally pregnancy-friendly. There are lots of easy hikes, snorkeling, scenic drives, luaus, and shopping.  And there’s always relaxing on the beach!

Plus, there are so many yummy foods to enjoy. Try Hawaiian plate lunches, tropical fruit, and all the shave ice you can eat!

Oahu is also the best place for gorgeous Hawaii maternity photos! Show off your cute baby bump in one of the prettiest babymoon destinations!

Boulder, Colorado

It’s no surprise that so many families flock to this beautiful mountain town in Colorado year-round for their family vacations. After all, Boulder Colorado is the perfect spot for a mountain getaway that’s still close to the city and all your favorite coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping. With beautiful mountain views in every direction, some of the best restaurants in the country, and countless scenic trails, Boulder Colorado is one of the best small towns to enjoy before you welcome your new baby into your life!

Boulder is a year-round destination. In the summer, you can cool off by taking a dip in Boulder Creek or take a scenic drive up to the mountains. Wildflowers bloom between July and August and make the most perfect backdrop along with the Boulder Flatirons. Rocky Mountain National Park is just an hour away, so you could spend a day in this scenic National Park during your visit! Pearl Street has some of the best restaurants in town, and in the summer they open up their patios on this adorable pedestrian-only street so you can enjoy your meal outside!

In the winter, Boulder turns into a beautiful winter wonderland. The Flatirons get covered in snow and look so majestic towering above the city. The winters are fairly mild and it never gets too cold, averaging about 22-47F. Although winter presents many sporting activities such as skiing and snowboarding, there are still many other things you can do! Over the holidays you can visit multiple holiday parades, drive-through light shows, or even visit the unique Ice Castles nearby!

Chicago, Illinois

Chicago makes a great babymoon destination because you can combine culture, art, and a great food scene.

If you’re going during winter, you can get out of the cold (and off your feet) by using taxis and rideshares to get around. If you’ll be here in the summer, you can enjoy the lake and the fabulous shoreline, just make sure to check with your doctor if it’s okay for you to be out on a boat.

Some of the most relaxing activities that people want to do on trips are not safe during pregnancy (goodbye massage and spa days!), but Chicago is great for alternatives like shopping, theater, and, of course, stuffing your face with deep dish pizza!

For cultural activities, visit the Art Institute of Chicago, one of the best museums in the US. Wear comfy shoes, though, since this is a lot of walking. There are many benches that you can stop and sit on if you get tired or your feet start to hurt, which is important on a babymoon!

Other things to do in Chicago on a babymoon include checking out the Route 66 “Begin” sign, which is one of the most famous things to see on Route 66. You can also see the Frank Lloyd Wright homes in Oak Park, which may even give you ideas for how you want to decorate your nursery!

Best Babymoon Destinations Around the World

From exploring the great outdoors in Canada to finding culture in Europe, relaxing on beautiful beaches, and more – here are some of the best babymoon destinations around the world.

Whistler, Canada

Tucked an easy hour and a half drive from Vancouver is Whistler – an adventure playground but also a beautiful place to enjoy before a baby arrives. With its vibrant and energetic village and significant focus on healthy, outdoor pursuits, Whistler is a perfect babymoon destination.

Being pregnant I would highly recommend visiting Whistler in the summer when you can enjoy some super pretty hikes with physical ratings for all fitness levels. Some of the Whistler Valley hikes are picturesque without too much physical strain. The beautiful Lost Lake is a lovely picnic and recreation area with a surrounding forest to explore the jumbled maze of trails.

If you are feeling up to a big day of sightseeing, the Peak to Peak Experience takes you across both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. It includes the engineering marvel that is the Peak to Peak Gondola. There are also some lovely high-altitude walks on both peaks to enjoy if the day is clear and sunny.

Don’t forget to spend time strolling the main pedestrian-only village with a fantastic range of shopping, cafes, and restaurants to sample during your stay.  Make sure you check out Purebread bakery for some sweet treats during your stay.

Of course, before baby arrives you may want to spoil yourself with a beautiful resort stay at the Four Seasons Whistler. Oozing sophistication, the five-star Four Seasons resort will allow you to indulge in top-notch spa facilities along with a swimming pool, gym, and highly rated restaurant. Take the time for some long relaxing days of pampering interspersed with outdoor adventures.

Algarve, Portugal

Photo by Dan Gold on Unsplash

Located on the southern coast of Algarve, this world-famous coastline has some of the most amazing beaches, water, and activities in all of Europe. As not only family-friendly destinations for travelers from around Europe as well as the world, the Algarve coast is one of the best babymoon destinations.

The Algarve coast has more than 100 beaches on the Atlantic, with many that include secluded beaches, or better-known beaches with umbrellas, huts, chairs, and gorgeous alcoves and natural rock formations.

Praia da Marinha is one of the best beaches in the Algarve and is located very close to Benagil Cave, which has beautiful rock formations inside a hidden sea cave. In fact, many of the beaches in the Algarve have amazing rock formations that allow visitors to explore and enjoy the beauty of this spectacular part of the world.

Enjoying time in the Algarve means visiting some well-known cities such as Albufeira which has an abundance of restaurants and is a great central location to stay on the coast. Portimao is another great town where many boat tours and events occur. Be sure to schedule an all-day boat tour to the caves, or simply along the coast. Spending the day at the beaches is what the coast is known for, so plan on enjoying our time beach hopping and eating spectacular food.

Formentera, Spain

If laid-back days on the beach and nights tucked away in sumptuous surroundings sounds like your idea of the ideal babymoon, then Formentera might just be the place you’re looking for. Tucked away at arm’s length of Ibiza (another of the Balearic Islands), this comparatively sleepy little island is nothing like its more hedonistic neighbour. The pace is slow and the vibe is decidedly more grown-up in Formentera. And it’s a favourite among the celebrity set.

You could very easily spend your days under an umbrella, reading a book on one of the island’s beautiful beaches, or swimming in the inviting, calm blue sea. But if you’re after a little more, take the time to check out the markets for interesting trinkets to take back home, watch the spectacular sunset at the Barbaria lighthouse, or take a day trip to nearby S’Espalmador – a private island located just off the coast where you are guaranteed tranquillity.

There are plenty of luxurious places to stay on the island, but for a truly memorable visit, with all the amenities you could need (including kitchen facilities for those pregnancy-induced cravings) you can’t beat the adults-only Can Aisha. It’s well located for both exploring and staying put.

Alsace, France

Photo by Georges Christophe from Pexels

Strasbourg is one of the best babymoon destinations in Europe. It is a little bit of German and a lot of French. Over the years Strasbourg has belonged to both Germany and France. The influence of both countries runs deep in the capital of the Alsace Region of France.

The cobblestone UNESCO World Heritage old town area of Strasbourg is a delight to explore with its amazing  Cathedral dominating the skyline. A walk to the La Petite France district is a must with its old-world timber houses shining in there bright colours. A cruise on the canals of Strasbourg brings this charming city into view from a whole another angle. Strasbourg really is a romantic city for lovers.

Don’t forget to try the local Alsacian specialties such as knuckle of pork with sauerkraut, Flamkussen, and wash it down with a glass of the regional Gewurztraminer wine. Maybe not so much wine for the mom to be on this trip to Strasbourg.

There are plenty of amazing day trips from Strasbourg that can easily be made to the Black Forest in Germany, Basel in Switzerland, and small French towns like Colmar and Ribeauville. Chateau Haut Koenigsbourg is an amazing site sitting on the edge of the Vosges mountains, while Freiburg in Germany is one of the Greenest cities in Europe.

You will find plenty of charming boutique hotels in the city center. Furthermore, Strasbourg is easily accessible by plane with its airport on the outskirts of the city or from Paris by high-speed train in around 2 hours.

Paris, France

The Eiffel Tower with the golden sun shining on it in Paris, France - one of the most romantic babymoon destinations in the world.

If you’re looking for a romantic pre-baby getaway, consider booking a babymoon in Paris. Not only is Paris safe and easy to navigate, but it is also full of art, culture, and fun for expecting parents.

With many romantic boutique hotels, such as St. James Albany, it’s easy to find one centrally located so you can walk or take the metro to the popular landmarks. Your Paris babymoon itinerary will likely include the Louvre, heading to the top of the Eiffel Tower at night, and walking the Champs-Élysées from the Arc de Triomphe. Fill some of your pre-baby time with classic art and famous landmarks since travel is a bit less cultural, at least when kids are young.

But you’ll also want to spend time slowing down and reconnecting on this special trip before becoming parents. Enjoy a leisurely stroll with coffee through Luxemboug Gardens or a picnic on the banks of the Seine. Walk across the romantic bridges or spend an afternoon in Montmartre, full of cobblestone streets, accordionists, and an old Parisian vibe.

Of course when you’re eating for two, you’ll enjoy indulging in croissants, baguettes, crepes, and French cheese plates during your Parisian babymoon, as well.

Italy

Do you want to spend your babymoon lounging around a scenic lake, enjoying rustic meals made fresh from the gardens of the countryside? Or perhaps your idea of the perfect babymoon is a beach resort along a sunny coastline. Maybe you would rather get one last chance to explore museums and cultural sites before baby comes?

Why not do all of this, and more! Italy is one of the best babymoon destinations because it offers so many options. You can spend a day exploring the sites in Rome (many will let you skip the line if you are visibly pregnant), and then recover with a relaxing evening in the Italian countryside.

When looking for a place to stay, keep in mind that a lot of hotels and homestays in the major cities are in old buildings that do not have an elevator. Consider staying in the more modern neighborhoods outside of the historical centers. You can also try renting a farmhouse or villa for easier access and less climbing, especially if you’re traveling in the third trimester.

One of the greatest benefits to a babymoon in Italy is the incredible food. Craving carbs? They’ve got you covered. The only downside is the amount of world-class wine that you’ll be turning down. But don’t worry – Italians won’t bat an eye if you decide to sample some.

Whatever you’re looking for in your babymoon, you’re likely to find in Italy. Whether you go for the culture, the architecture, the beaches, the countryside, or the food – you’ll be glad you did.

Sydney, Australia

Sydney in Australia is a fantastic destination for a babymoon. One of the main attractions is the number of beautiful beaches to choose from to relax, soak in the sun, and go for a swim. The best Sydney beaches include Bondi Beach, Manly Beach, Coogee Beach, Palm Beach, Bronte Beach, Avalon Beach, Cronulla Beach, and Dee Why Beach. You could also go snorkeling in the Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve, Gordons Bay, Clovelly Bay, Chowder Bay, and Balmoral Beach.

There are several picturesque walks in Sydney, such as the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk, Bradley’s Head to Chowder Bay Walk, Chinamans Beach to Balmoral Beach, Anzac Bridge to Pyrmont Bridge, and Manly to Spit Bridge Scenic Walk. If you are less than 24 weeks pregnant, you can also do the Harbour Bridge Climb.

Sydney is a food lovers paradise. To enjoy food with stunning views, check out these popular restaurants – O Bar and Dining, 360 Bar and Dining, and Cafe Sydney. If you enjoy tasty Japanese food and karaoke, try Lantern by Wagaya. For authentic and delicious Malaysian food, be sure to stop into Mamak.

There are also a lot of fabulous day trip options from Sydney including the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Hawkesbury River, Port Stephens, Kiama, Jervis Bay and Canberra.

For babymoon accommodations, consider the Park Hyatt Sydney, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, The Langham Sydney, Shangri-La Hotel Sydney, and Taronga Zoo Wildlife Retreat.

Sydney is an awesome destination for a babymoon. Consider visiting again when you are traveling with your baby.

Queenstown, New Zealand

New Zealand is an amazing babymoon destination and one of the safest places to visit. The best way to get around is by campervan. Not only will you have your own bed on tap for those afternoon pregnancy naps, but you will also have the flexibility to go where the wind blows.

Flying in or out of Queenstown is highly recommended, as the lake and mountain views are a scenic flight on its own. As one of the most popular spots in the South Island, there are so many things to do in Queenstown

You must head up the Skyline Gondola for some of the best views over the Southern Alps. Or if the water is more your thing, take a historic steamship cruise with high tea on the TSS Earnslaw on the azure waters of Lake Wakatipu. Then satisfy those never-ending hunger pains with a huge homemade burger at Fergburger, a Queenstown institution.

Then head north to Mount Cook National Park for a breath of fresh air that makes you feel so alive.  Mount Cook National Park, home of New Zealand’s tallest mountain, is full of hiking trails suitable for those taking an active approach to pregnancy. The Hooker Valley Track, Tasman Glacier Viewpoint, and Kea Point Track are all easy walks that will transport you into the mountains.

Wherever you head in New Zealand, you will be struck by its beauty, and you can still have an adventure, even if you aren’t bungy jumping your way around the country.

Maldives

Overwater bungalows in the Maldives, one of the most beautiful babymoon destinations.
Photo by Asad Photo Maldives from Pexels

One of the most beautiful babymoon destinations in the world is the Maldives. Located in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives are a set of 1,192 islands that boast of pristine blue waters. Many of these islands are uninhabited, and the ones that are inhabited are fishing villages or owned by resorts or large hotel chains. Due to the rise in sea levels, many of the smaller islands are disappearing too. This makes these islands all the more compelling from a travel standpoint.

The islands enjoy 365 days of sunshine, making them an ideal getaway for a honeymoon or a babymoon. The Maldivian islands are accessible by seaplanes or private speedboats from the capital Male, depending on the distance.

While there are several premier hotel chains and boutique hotels on individual islands, Taj Exotica Maldives is a babymoon destination in itself. You can choose to stay in an overwater villa, a lagoon villa, or a beach facing villa. In the first two types of villas, you will have access to the water from your room itself. Comfort and luxury are the words that pop up upon a first look into the rooms. Multiple restaurants serve delicious cuisines in different sections of the property that you can walk or access via golf carts.

Some of the best things to do in the Maldives are water activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, or heading for a Dhow boat sunset cruise. At Taj Exotica, you can also see manta rays and sharks. Though the warm, impossibly blue waters are the biggest draw about the islands.

Tokyo, Japan

If you are looking for a beautiful babymoon destination full of fun, culture, tradition, and great food – Tokyo is the place to go. There is so much to do that you will want to keep coming back.

Tokyo Disney is a must, there are two parks, and you will need at least three days to explore both parks. The lines will be long, but it is worth every minute.

After spending a few days at the happiest place on Earth, you can head to one of the highest observation towers in the world (Tokyo Tower) to get a phenomenal view of the city. Everything in Tokyo is beautiful and done with such grace. The city is also full of history from the Harajuku District to Hamarikyu Gardens.

Since Tokyo is easily acceptable via train or subway, you can reach most destinations in the city in less than an hour. The best place to stay is The Grand Hyatt Tokyo; the location couldn’t be more perfect. It is only a few meters away from shopping, restaurants, museums, and observation towers.

The downside to taking a babymoon in Tokyo is not eating sushi. You will be missing out on some of the best sushi in the world. However, that will just give you another reason to return after your little one is born.
