If you are needing a place to stay in Cork, Ireland, look no further than Hotel Isaacs Cork. It is a corky (no pun intended) boutique hotel in the heart of the city. What we loved about this hotel was its location and beautiful accommodations. It is the perfect hotel for those traveling for long business stays or with families because they offer apartment style accommodations with two and three bedrooms. The main attractions of Hotel Isaacs Cork are their two award winning restaurants, Greenes Restaurant and Cask Cork. We cannot wait to share why we highly recommend you stay at this lovely boutique hotel in Cork, Ireland.

The Perfect Location
We first fell in love with Hotel Isaacs Cork because of their quaint little alleyway leading to their doors. It made us instantly feel the Irish charm. The alleyway is not only their adorable welcome entrance, but also their courtyard. The courtyard has dining seats available for guests to enjoy along with a beautiful waterfall. It is definitely a little hidden gem in Cork and is the perfect location for a romantic evening.
Hotel Isaacs Cork is located in the Victorian quarter, the heart of the city and a great location for many reasons. There are fantastic theatres, shops, restaurants and pubs with great music along the same street or just a block away. It is also easy to access whether you are traveling by train, car or even by plane, everything is a short distance away.
- The train station is less than a 10 minute walk
- The airport is only 15 minutes away by taxi
- Parking is available 100 meters from the hotel – first come first serve basis at a daily rate of €6.50 per night. (We recommend parking real quick along the road to ask the front desk agent for directions and help getting inside the parking lot).
Wonderful Hospitality Service
From the moment we booked the hotel, till the moment we checked out, the hospitality service at Hotel Isaacs Cork was wonderful. When we arrived, the front desk agent helped us find the parking lot with ease. Something that is not always easy when driving on the opposite side of the road in a big city. We were beyond grateful for her help because she let us borrow a special key since we could not make international phone calls to open the gate.
Since the restaurant was fully booked, she also helped us with dinner recommendations and pubs with traditional music to enjoy just down the street. It was very nice to not have to walk far because it was pouring down rain that evening. She provided us with a map of the city and circled all the spots she suggested to make things as simple and easy as possible for us. We greatly appreciated all of her help. After our terrible day driving in the rain and getting into a car accident, she made everything go seamlessly. She truly set the tone of our entire experience at Hotel Isaacs Cork and we are very grateful for her warm Irish welcome and generosity.
Modern Accommodations
Hotel Isaacs Cork is not your average boutique hotel in Cork, Ireland. It is a hotel with two recently renovated room categories, Classic and Deluxe. It also has two and three bedroom apartment rooms.
Apartment Rooms
The apartment rooms are perfect for guests traveling on long business trips or with a large family. These apartment rooms have no minimum or maximum stay, so its truly functioned as a hotel stay. The rooms are very spacious and offer all the conveniences and comforts of a home with the added services of a hotel. Imagine living in your home today with the additional benefits of housekeeping and room service – that is the life! However, if you do feel like cooking some home comfort food, you can use the fully equipped kitchen inside your apartment-hotel room.
Deluxe Room
We were very grateful to have a Deluxe Room at Hotel Isaacs Cork. The Deluxe Room is quite spacious for being in the city and beautifully decorated. The entire room is decorated in chic furniture with silver and lime green tones. There are quite a few options in this room category to accommodate guests. Options include: one queen bed, two twin and/or full beds, or three twin and/or full beds.
Our Deluxe Room was uniquely shaped, it was almost like a long hallway. Our living area was in the middle and had a gorgeous sitting chair, a desk and a nook with a couch along the wall that was perfect for some light reading.
Through the living room was our bathroom. The bathroom was simple, but beautiful. It had all of the everyday bathroom necessities in addition to a towel rack warmer. Having warm towels ready was perfect for the cold, rainy night we had in Cork. Since it rains almost every day of the year in Ireland, we are sure this towel rack warmer comes in handy all the time.
On the other end of the living room was the bedroom. The bedroom was decorated the same as the living room with silver and lime green accents. It also had two night stands, one on both ends of the bed and in the corner of the room was a TV and a closet. Though our bed was vibrant with colors, the rest of the room was a little plain. A few photos or a mirror on the walls would bring the bedroom more to life.
Delicious Dining Options
For a city that has a lot of great dining options, this boutique hotel in Cork provides guests with two amazing restaurants – Greenes Restaurant and Cask Cork. Both restaurants are very popular in the city, in fact, they were both sold out during the Sunday night of our visit. They are also overseen by the same, award winning chef, Bryan McCarthy. In 2015, Chef Bryan received Ireland’s most prestigious award, the RAI Best Chef Munster. Needless to say, Greenes Restaurant and Cask Cork are two restaurants you have to experience while in Cork, Ireland.
Greenes Restaurant
Greenes Restaurant is a fine dining experience that creates innovative and modern dishes. Chef Bryan McCarthy and his team use only the highest quality ingredients, sustainable meat and fish, and locally sourced organic vegetables and herbs from around Ireland. Guests can find simple food being executed with new cooking techniques and plated like a piece of art. Dinner menu options include: a la carte, 3 course pre-theatre tasting, 7 course tasting and 9 course tasting. In addition, guests of Hotel Isaacs Cork receive a special offer of a 15% discount. It is highly recommended to reserve a table a week ahead of time because Greenes Restaurant is truly a premium restaurant in Cork.

Breakfast at Greenes Restaurant
Breakfast was included in our bed and breakfast rate, however the hotel offers a room rate only. We recommend guests purchase the bed and breakfast rate because it not only includes a hearty breakfast, but also two glasses of complimentary prosecco upon arrival. The breakfast is served inside the Greenes Restaurant in a buffet style with plenty of options to choose from. Guests can enjoy a vegetarian, continental and of course the full-Irish breakfast.
Breakfast is available every day from 7am-10am on the weekdays and 7am-10:30am on the weekends.
Cask Cork
When we say it was packed in Cask Cork on a Sunday night, we mean it was PACKED! I guess that is to be expected from the best cocktail bar in Ireland. Yes, Cask Cork is an award winning bar after only opening in 2017. The award was given by the prestigious Irish Craft Cocktail Awards – a great accomplishment from the team at Cask Cork.
There are plenty of reasons why Cask Cork is unique, but we will only mention a few of them. One being the atmosphere, we loved the retro and industrial design of Cask Cork. We almost felt like we were in an underground speakeasy. If you visit Cask Cork every twelve weeks, you will never see the same menu because they consistently change it out. In addition, The award winning mixologists also host cocktail classes for guests Monday through Wednesday.
This cocktail bar also serves delicious food. Guests can find a more global culinary experience of street food, tapas and small plates to enjoy with friends or loved ones. We were able to share the BEST cheese board in the world. It came with four different cheeses – brie, blue, gruyere and cheddar. It also had crackers, fresh fruit, pecans, slices of baguette bread and quince jellies. It was delicious!
Mon – Thurs: 4pm – 11:30pm
Fri – Sat: 12:30pm – 12:30am
Sun: 12:30pm – 11:00pm

Cork is somewhere I'd love to visit - so far I've only been to Dublin and Donegal (Bundoran, Sligo) in Southern Ireland, and Belfast in Northern. This little boutique hotels looks like the perfect place to base an adventure from :) x

The courtyard was arguably the best part. We could sit there all day long listening to the water. The room was very inviting and open. TONS of space.
