How to Have the Perfect Girl’s Weekend in Dallas

A girl’s weekend in Dallas is perfect for a bachelorette party, a reunion, or a mother-daughter trip. I would know best. I’ve experienced all three and loved them all equally.

Each weekend offered something different to cater to the occasion. Therefore, I am excited to share ALL the fun things you can do to make your girl’s weekend in Dallas perfect!

From the traditional girl’s weekend activities such as a day spa and a shopping spree to more adventurous activities such as ax throwing and going on a scavenger hunt – there is something for all women to enjoy in Dallas.

My girl’s weekend in Dallas guide includes several fun things to do, where to eat, and where to sleep.

Fun Things to Do for a Girl’s Weekend in Dallas

Three women enjoying a girl's weekend in Dallas at the Statler Hotel's rooftop pool with skyscrapers in the background.

I love my romantic getaways and family vacations, but sometimes I need a girl’s weekend. Between my epic bachelorette party, a fun college reunion, and a lovely mother-daughter trip – I have been able to experience a lot of fun things to do with my favorite women.

Every girl’s weekend in Dallas, I dabbled in something new and exciting (except for a day spa, I enjoyed that luxury more than once). So my list of fun things to do for a girl’s weekend in Dallas offers a variety of perfect activities for all occasions and women.

You can enjoy a luxurious mother-daughter trip with day spas, yoga mornings, and shopping sprees. A fun and wild bachelorette party with bar hopping and rooftop pool days. An adventurous and entertaining girls reunion with scavenger hunts, comedy clubs, and ax throwing.

There are so many different things to do for a girl’s weekend in Dallas; it’s just a matter of picking which one interests you.

Hit the Day Spa

Getting pampered is one of the best ways to kick start a girl’s weekend in Dallas. Luckily, Dallas is full of budget-friendly, luxury, and boutique day spas.

Every day spa offers various services and treatments, from facials to body scrubs, body wraps, massages, micro-needling, manicures, pedicures, waxing, and more. Your options of rejuvenating your body and soul are endless at Dallas’ day spas.

Here is a list of some of the best day spas in Dallas:

Remember, to book reservations, especially if you have a large party.

Enjoy FREE Yoga at Klyde Warren Park

People doing yoga ar Klyde Warren Park in Dallas.

Who doesn’t like FREE things and at a beautiful park for that matter?

Klyde Warren Park is a 5.2-acre public park dedicated to providing a green space for locals and visitors to play, eat, and relax. With that said, the park hosts a variety of fun events almost every day. One of the most popular events is the free yoga classes.

Every weekend at Klyde Warren Park, there are free yoga classes by different yoga instructors. The classes are for all levels – whether it’s your first time or highly experienced. All you have to bring is a mat, water, and a yogic attitude!

Break a Morning Sweat

If you and your girlfriends enjoy breaking a morning sweat to begin your day, Dallas is full of options. From barre classes to cycling classes and everything in-between – you will not have trouble finding somewhere to get your morning work out. During my yearly college reunion, many girls walked to CycleBar in Uptown Dallas for a fun workout.

Two more options that are FREE include working out at the hotel fitness center or signing up for Crisp & Green’s health, fitness, and wellness events. When my sister, mom, and I stayed at The Statler Dallas, the fitness center provided a great space to get a cardio and weight-lifting workout.

If I could pick and choose the best way to work out with my girlfriends, sister, and/or mom, it would definitely be at Crisp & Green. You just can’t beat a free workout. Almost every Saturday, a fitness instructor will host a free class of either yoga, full-body high-intensity, pilates, piloxing (pilates and boxing), and more. Additionally, Crisp & Green is perfect for a post-workout smoothie, salad, or rice bowl. You can reserve your spot here.

Drink and Swim at a Rooftop Pool

A rooftop pool at The Statler Hotel in Dallas with downtown Dallas views and cabanas.

If you started your girl’s weekend in Dallas at the day spa for manicures, this is when you start to show them off – holding a cocktail in a rooftop pool. So grab your bikinis, sunglasses, hats, and your favorite ladies and reserve a cabana at one of the hottest rooftop pools in Dallas.

Rooftop bars and pools have started to arise in some of the best hotels in Dallas. A few of the best rooftop pools are at The Statler Dallas, The Joule, CANVAS Hotel, The Adolphus Hotel, and The W Dallas – Victory. The best part about some of these rooftop pools, you do not have to be a hotel guest. Most of these hotels offer a day pass to the public to gain access to its glamorous rooftop pool.

Some hotel rooftop pools are for pure relaxation and majestic views, whereas others are more for parties. The Adolphus Hotel is a little bit of both. During the day, the rooftop pool is for hotel guests only, but on Friday nights, it turns into a pool party called Sundown on Seven. The CANVAS Hotel and The W Dallas – Victory hosts live DJs on the weekends from 1 pm – 6 pm and offers day passes to 21 years and older guests.

Needless to say, whether you want to party or relax under the cabana, a girl’s weekend in Dallas is not complete without a day at a rooftop pool.

Treat Yourself to a Shopping Spree

A girl’s weekend in Dallas is not complete without some shopping. Dallas is full of shopping spree opportunities, so I hope you are ready to shop till you drop! You can either hit the best shopping center in town, NorthPark Center or walk throughout some of Dallas’ most fashionable neighborhoods.

As a local, if I want to REALLY shop, I always go to NorthPark Center. It is hands down my favorite place to shop in Dallas because it has everything you need, including air conditioning. The shopping center has budget-friendly, luxury, boutique, and department stores all under one roof. So every shopper can feel comfortable and confident they will walk out with a bag or two of new purchases.

For a unique way of shopping, I recommend visiting some of the most elite and beautiful neighborhoods of Dallas – Highland Park Village, West Village, and Shops at Park Lane. Highland Park Village is the highest tier when it comes to shopping in Dallas. In fact, when you shop here, you will feel like you are on an episode of The Real Housewives of Dallas. Highland Park Village has the most luxurious stores in this neighborhood, such as Alice + Olivia and LoveShackFancy.

West Village has a variety of boutique and well-known stores such as y&i clothing boutique and J. Crew. Shops at Park Lane is the perfect neighborhood for those wanting to find high-end designer stores without breaking the wallet. There are several outlet stores at Shops at Park Lane, including Nordstrom Rack, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, and J. Crew Factory.

Walk Through the Dallas Farmer’s Market

Going to the Dallas Farmer’s Market is one of the best things to do in the city. Both locals and visitors enjoying the Dallas Farmer’s Market because there are so many wonderful things to discover.

You can visit Dallas’ famous garden shop, Rubial’s, to take home a plant or to merely walk the premises because it is so magical. You can go inside the marketplace to shop at artisanal vendor markets or devour delicious cuisine at the food hall. Lastly, you can visit The Shed to find local vendors selling fresh vegetables and fruits, homemade jams, freshly baked bread, desserts, and even enjoy a wine tasting from one of the best wineries in North Texas.

Both locals and visitors can easily spend an entire afternoon at the Dallas Farmer’s Market to shop and dine.

Bar Hop in Uptown Dallas

A night of bar hopping is always fun with your best girlfriends. So after much success in bar hopping in Dallas, I recommend staying in Uptown.

Uptown Dallas is THE place you want to be for the best nightlife in Dallas. The bars and nightlife experience on McKinney Ave. and Cedar Springs Rd. in Uptown Dallas is the closest you will get to reliving your best college days. It will just be a little more polished than you remember in college (if you remember).

You can easily take a taxi to Uptown and continue to bar hop on foot throughout the night. A few of my favorite bars include Concrete Cowboy, Playground Bar, Theory Nightclub, and Kung Fu Saloon. Remember to drink responsibly and take a taxi home.

Or Find a Hidden Speakeasy

If bar hopping is not your scene, do not worry, I have you covered. If you are looking for a more sophisticated evening for your girl’s weekend in Dallas, I recommend going to a speakeasy.

A modern-day speakeasy is a “hidden bar” that provides guests with an experience of living during the Prohibition Era. The speakeasy bars can be hidden behind a telephone booth, a barbershop, a candy shop… they can literally be hidden anywhere! Half of the fun is finding them.

On most occasions, guests will need a secret password to enter the speakeasy. I recommend looking up the speakeasy social media pages for clues to receive the password. If it is an elite speakeasy, you may even need to be invited to enter!

Three different cocktails on a marble table from Bourbon and Banter - a speakeasy bar in Dallas.

There are several speakeasy bars in Dallas, but my favorite is Bourbon and Banter inside The Statler Hotel. Bourbon and Banter capture the spirit of the Prohibition-era speakeasies with its secret door and 1950s lush ambiance.

The speakeasy has a beautiful bar with luxuriant sofas and decor that all ties the 1950s vibe together. Moreover, the cocktails are gorgeous – very Instagram-worthy, and also delicious.

Hint: Bourbon and Banter is downstairs at The Statler Hotel. Find a room with a shoeshine chair, the telephone booth will have the code, enter the code, and the secret door will open.

Go Axe Throwing

Six ladies enjoying a girl's weekend in Dallas and posing with axes and a bullseye board behind them.

If you are looking for an adventurous thing to do in Dallas, try your hand at ax throwing. It is one of the hottest activities right now, and it’s fun for everyone.

There is no need to worry if you can throw an axe and participate. A coach will give you a short safety lesson and help guide you through handling the axe correctly.

You pair up with your team at the axe throwing range and go through several rounds of fun games against the opposing team. The best part, some axe-throwing companies allow guests to bring their own beer!

Laugh Your Socks Off at a Comedy Club

Enjoy a night full of laughter at one of Dallas’ most iconic comedy clubs – Improv or Backdoor Comedy Club. Both comedy clubs offer special occasions and bachelorette events to make the best adult-friendly party. I would know very well – my bachelorette party was at the Backdoor Comedy Club, and we laughed our socks off.

Improv is one of the best comedy clubs in the nation, and Dallas is lucky to have one location. As a result, Improv brings in some heavy hitter comedians to their comedy clubs across the country, such as Craig Robinson (The Office) and Marlon Wayans (White Chicks). So be sure to check their website for a lineup.

For over 15 years, the Backdoor Comedy Club has been Dallas’ longest-running stand-up comedy showcase. Throughout the years, comedians from Last Comic Standing, BET, and Comedy Central have graced the stage. Every Friday and Saturday, at least eight local and/or nationally touring comedians do stand-up comedy. Thursday night is open mic.

In addition to comedy, both comedy clubs offer a variety of delicious food and drinks. Just be careful when you eat; you don’t want to choke on your food when you laugh so hard.

Go on a Scavenger Hunt

This might not be on every girl’s weekend in Dallas agenda, but it definitely should be, especially for a bachelorette party!

A scavenger hunt is a fun way to explore Dallas while solving puzzles and finding clues with your girlfriends. Moreover, it could also be as simple as completing crazy and daring tasks or a photo challenge – check out these scavenger hunt templates.

DFW Scavenger Hunt creates unique hunts throughout Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. If you want to stay close to Downtown Dallas, you can pick from either Trinity Groves the Dallas Arts District.

The Trinity Groves hunt takes you on a fun challenge while you can explore the beautiful bridges, murals, and public art in the area. Likewise, the Dallas Arts District hunt takes you on a mystery to catch an art thief while discovering sculptures, murals, and historic sites of Downtown Dallas.

An example of a scavenger hunt for an epic bachelorette party and girl's weekend in Dallas.

Better yet, you can hire DFW Scavenger Hunt to custom design the perfect hunt for your girl’s weekend in Dallas. One of my favorite memories from my bachelorette party in Dallas was a scavenger hunt.

The hunt took place throughout the night from dinner and drinks, all the way through a comedy club and bar hopping in Uptown. It was so much fun which is why I highly recommend doing a custom scavenger hunt or have your maid of honor specially design one for you.

Where to Stay for a Girl’s Weekend in Dallas

There are two options to explore for accommodations during your girl’s weekend in Dallas – a hotel or AirBnb. A hotel is the best option for a small group of four or if you are wanting a more luxurious experience. An AirBnb is the best option if you have a large group and need multiple rooms with beds.

In my personal experience, the benefits of staying in a hotel are the amenities and hospitality service. One of the best amenities for a girls weekend in Dallas is a pool. Luckily, there are so many amazing Dallas hotels with indoor pools and rooftops pools.

The benefits of staying in an AirBnb is the large space and house amenities such as a full kitchen and multiple bathrooms. For a girl’s weekend, multiple bathrooms is pretty essential when it comes to getting ready.

Traveling from Houston? Try taking the train from Houston to Dallas for your girl’s weekend.

Best Hotel – The Statler

If you are looking for hotel accommodations, The Statler is the best hotel for a girl’s weekend in Dallas. There are so many fun things to do at The Statler that you don’t even need to leave the property. It has everything you need – luxury, ambiance, rooftop pool and bar, dining options, a speakeasy, and a bowling alley.

We enjoyed staying at The Statler during our mother-daughter staycation in Dallas. The two queen-bed room is very spacious with a HUGE bathroom. There was plenty of space for all three of us to get ready at the same time.

Moreover, we enjoyed all of the hotel amenities that we hardly had to leave to find fun things to do. One of our favorite amenities is the bowling alley inside the hotel. I highly recommend booking a lane, ordering food and drinks, and enjoying the friendly competition.

Another wonderful amenity is the rooftop pool and bar. The Statler Hotel’s rooftop pool is as Instagram-worthy as it gets and has gorgeous views of Downtown Dallas. However, at night it can become more of a nightclub. Luckily, you can escape to Bourbon and Banter, the hidden speakeasy that is quiet and lush for the perfect girl’s evening.

Book your stay at The Statler Dallas, Curio Collection by Hilton.

AirBnb

An AirBnb is the perfect accommodation for a girls reunion or a large bachelorette party in Dallas because of space. If you book an AirBnb, you can have an entire house, townhome, condo, or apartment with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms.

Additionally, you have access to a full kitchen with utensils and cooking equipment, a living room, and private/public amenities such as a pool, fitness center, free parking, and more.

Pro tip: be careful when you look at prices. The hosts can add cleaning and service fees that can be quite costly. Also, look into the sleeping arrangements – make sure there are enough beds and the proper bed size to accommodate your party.

I hope this guide has helped plan your girl’s weekend in Dallas. And I hope you have a wonderful time creating lifelong memories!

As someone who recently spent a day in Dallas, specifically in Bishop Arts district - https://www.mapofdallas.com/bishop-arts-district/, this guide is spot on with its recommendations for a fun girls' weekend! Despite my brief visit, I had the opportunity to indulge in some pampering at the Hiatus Spa + Retreat, one of the suggested day spas in this article. It was an oasis of tranquility in the heart of a bustling city. The treatments offered were excellent, and the spa staff were professional and attentive to every detail. It was a rejuvenating experience that set a wonderful tone for my short visit. Even though I didn't get a chance to try everything listed in this guide, I certainly hope to return to Dallas soon and experience more of what this vibrant city has to offer.
